[comp.os.minix] 1.5 devices

<ACPS1794@Ryerson.Ca> (06/01/91)

Hello;

I've just finished upgrading Minix to 1.5, but have run into some problems.
Whenever I use readclock, I get an error (Memory Fault - Core Dumped). I
recall reading somewhere that I need to create a /dev/port. Is there a script
somewhere that will do this for me?? I've also got similar problems using
dosread/write which looks for a /dev/dosA file. I linked this file to /dev/at0
(which works, but I don't know if this is HOW it should be done).

I've gotten the 'Memory Fault' error on other occasions as well. Could this
be a deeper problem with mm/fs/kernel?? I checked crc's during upgrading and
everything was ok - no problems in compiling the different parts either.
