My experience (with 1.5.10.3) and c68 is that when i compile kernel/stfloppy.c with c68 and access /dev/fd0 (that is, the variable format floppy) minix stops with a panic (2,4,14 - pick your choice, depending on the weather). The panic happens on the device close call. An ACK compiled stfloppy.c cures this problem. But that is only symptom fighting... The real problem stays. The problem of a kernel panic definitley is not in tos. Its in the kernel!
