Hi there, I have finally decided to take the plunge and get shoelace installed on my harddisk so I can boot Minix or DOS with no floppies involved. So I this: (new filesystem on /dev/at0) cat /dev/hd0 > /dev/at0 laceup -w 1 /dev/at0 (partitions reported correctly) I then boot the computer. I get the winiboot signon. DOS boots fine (partition 1). When I try to boot Minix (partition 2), the computer hangs. I read a note in Earl's documentation about filesystems created with V1.3 may not start in the right place. I fired up fdisk to check it out and the DOS partition was one sector too big. I decreased it and tried to reboot. The computer still hung. Do I have to play with the start sector of the Minix partition? I've trashed many filesystems over the last six months, so I am hesitant to do this. If anyone can tell me how to fix this problem, I would be grateful!
