Date: 26 Oct 1982 at 2055-CDT Since people have been making comments about rogue... We took the rogue binary and ran "strings" on it. This gave us (obviously) all the strings in the program... in the list of strings we found a line that said "Wizards Password:" and after that was a string that looked strangely like a string in the password file.... so, we replaced it (using adb) with a string that had a known password. When you are in rogue and type a ^P it asks for the wizards password. Of course, your name will not be on the score board if you even become a wizard, but you can do all sorts of amazing things.... you can even edit the score file, although how I'm not sure... we didn't spend the time on details. You should say what version of rogue. I'd bet it is 3.6. I haven't found the string in 5.2. In 3.6 you will have LOTS of extra commands as the superuser (creating any object you desire, enchanting yourself 9 times, ...)
