               Announcement

    7th Hungarian Colloquium on Combinatorics
        Eger, Hungary, July 5-10, 1987

The conference will take place in the small historic college town of Eger,
in the hillside of North-Eastern Hungary. The sessions will be held
from Monday morning till Friday afternoon in the Eger Teacher's Training
College. Address: Eger, Szabadsag ter 2.

The scope of the meeting encompasses combinatorics in a broad sense.
The topics include:

- Graph Theory, hypergraphs
- Matroids
- Combinatorial optimization
- Designs, finite geometries
- Ramsey theory, irregularities of distributions
- Combinatorial number theory
- Infinite combinatorics, set theory
- Algorithms in combinatorics, geometry, number theory and algebra
- Complexity theory, lower bounds.

There will be 45-minute invited addresses at plenary sessions and 20-minute
contributed talks in parallel sessions. We are pleased to announce that
the following speakers have so far accepted our invitation to deliver an
invited address at the colloquium:

    N. Alon (Tel Aviv)
    J. Beck (Budapest)
    A. Brouwer (Eindhoven, The Netherlands)
    C.D. Godsil (Burnaby, B.C., Canada)
    L. Lovasz (Budapest)
    A. Razborov (Moscow)
    V. Rodl (Prague)
    M. Saks (Rutgers)
    A. Schrijver (Tilburg, The Netherlands)

Chances are good that two more distinguished speakers from Moscow
may arrive and give invited lectures:

    L.G. Khachiyan, and
A.A. Ivanov [distance regular graphs, etc.].

Razborov is likely to stay over (in Budapest) for a few weeks
after the meeting; there is a possibility that the other two
Soviet speakers may stay over for a week as well.
