Formal lectures will be limited to Tuesdays and Thursdays; the remaining time will be unstructured with meeting rooms available for (more or less) informal discussions. The dates were chosen to avoid the most obvious conflicts with other meetings. (The ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing, which takes place August 10-12, will also be held in Vancouver.) In any event, it is not expected that all participants will stay the entire four weeks of the workshop. The following speakers have agreed to deliver an invited lecture: N. Alon, R. Anstee, D. Avis, J-C Bermond, F.R.K. Chung, C. Colbourn, D. Corneil, M. Farber, R. Graham, P. Hammer, T. Ibaraki, R. Karp, M. Klawe, D. Kirkpatrick, N. Pippenger, W. Pulleyblank, I. Rival, M. Saks, E. Welzl, and P. Winkler. In addition, the following invited speakers may also participate: D. Johnson, B. Korte, T. Leighton, J. Nesetril, T. Nishizeki, C. Papadimitriou, and R. Tarjan. Participation will be limited to about 80 persons. There will be a registration fee of $70 (Can), which will be waived for graduate students. Some campus housing may be available; there may also be a possibility of shared accommodation in sublet houses and apartments.
