Has anybody ever encountered a situation where a TU78 drive will give intermittent "BAD TAPE" error responses while writing at 6250 bpi under 4.1bsd, which never appear regardless of the load under VMS on the same drive using the same tape. It seems to be related to not recovering correctly from a soft write error (maybe because a command is given to the TM78 formatter before it is ready to accept it), but??? Dave Clemans Tektronix
