The tenth Columbia University Theory Day
will be held on October 1. The four lectures will be:
Shmuel Winograd, IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center
"Complexity of Matrix Operations."
Alan Borodin, University of Toronto
"Random Walks, Universal Sequences and Log-Space Computation."
Joel Spencer, SUNY at Stonybrook
"Threshold Functions and Zero-One Laws."
Micha Sharir, Tel-Aviv University
"Davenport-Schinzel Sequences and their Geometric Applications."
The full announcement will be broadcasted next week.
Please notice the following changes:
1. it will be held on Thursday and
2. it will be held in a different room (in the same building).
The eleventh theory day will be on Friday April 8 in the
usual room.
