[ut.theory] Acts for the Christmas Party

sherk@theory.toronto.edu (Murray Sherk) (11/29/88)

**************************************************
* Department of Computer Science Christmas Party *
**************************************************

Date: Saturday, December 10.

Rough Schedule:
6:00 Food requiring special preparation (e.g. turkeys requiring carving)
       should arrive by this time.
  6:30 Start eating main course.
  8:00 Variety show in SF1105.
  9:00 Start eating dessert.

Food: The dinner is a potluck dinner. Buy, prepare, and bring in some food.
Give the receipts to Murray Sherk, Pierre Poulin, or Barb Brecht and
we'll reimburse you. A sign-up list is in the department lounge.

Entertainment: We have a hour-long (hopefully) variety show demonstrating the
talents (or lack thereof) of the people in our department. Humour that
only a computer scientist would understand is particularly welcome.
Email to Murray sherk@ai for more information. It would be good to
have each group in the department represented by some act.
REAL talent is, of course, welcome but not expected.

Location: We eat in the Sandford Fleming basement cafeteria area.
          The show is in SF1105.

This party is for all members of the department and their families.
Children are welcome. We will be providing special entertainment for children.
There will be cartoon videos, games, and a Santa Claus for them.
*Parents* If you bring children, please also bring along $10 gifts, wrapped
and labelled for them. Santa will distribute the gifts.

Cost: Adults:$8.00, Children age 6-16:$4.00, Children age 5 and under:Free.
All food and non-alcoholic beverages are included in the ticket price.
Beer and wine will be available for $1 per drink.

EVERYONE who comes should bring in some food. Check the sign-up list in the
lounge to see what is needed, and talk to Barb Brecht for more information.
