I am perfectly interested in poultry. I would welcome discussion on birds
of any kind. If, however, instead of making constructive suggestions, you
are threatening net sabatage, I think you should look into how such acts
are viewed by the community of net-news administrators.

If you want to start a new group, send a message to *.news.group and say
that you are collecting votes on the popularity of that new group. Name it
anything you like: rec.utzoo-jerks, rec.wildlife.withfeathers, or
rec.greenpeace. I find it likely that I would also be interested in such
a new group (with the one obvious exception).

But if you just want to whine, I suggest you face up the the reality of
usenet: You cannot stop parrot enthusiasts from posting to this
(appropriately-named) group. If you just want to flame, why not try
alt.flame? If you don't get it, you could send it to me and I will
forward it for you.

Now, meta-discussions on the purpose of groups are frowned upon, so I
will ask a substantive question: Has anyone else besides me used Vivagen
for genetic sexing? They just raised their prices by almost 50%--does that
mean that they aren't making it? The literature gives them even better
marks than surgical sexing, but I have talked to a breeder "who has a friend"
(apocryphal story?) who send in 30 Hyacinth Macaw specimens and got back
100% reverse on the correct sexes (she new the correct sexes already and
just wanted to test them out before trusting her millions-of-dollars-worth of
birds to genetic sexing).
