[rec.birds] Attracting Bluebirds

rising@utzoo.uucp (Jim Rising) (03/03/88)

I've never attracted bluebirds, but in general one puts out fruit for
the thrushes as you have done. Might try planting fruit trees (robins
and waxwings come to our hawthorns). Do you have places to put up
bluebird houses?

Also, a bird bath is popular with a wide variety of birds. In winter,
a heated one (so that there is open water--not warm water) attracts many
birds, and would perhaps appeal to the local bluebirds.
