If anyone in New York/New Jersey area is interested, there is a Say's Pheobe at the Orange County airport in Montgomery NY. It has been there since at least Saturday (when it was discovered), and seemed very healthy when I saw it on Tuesday the 20th. It is very easy to reach (directions below). Let me know if you see it! Take Route 17 west to exit 120 in Middletown, route 211 North (or west). Follow Rt 211 for 5-7 miles, and take a left on East Kaiser Town Road. If you pass the airport on your left, you have gone about 1/2 mile too far. Travel to the top of the rise on E. Kaiser Town (about 1/4 mile) and park. The bird frequents the low trees just beyond the fence. There is some orange tape threaded thru the fence to mark the site. If the bird is not there, wait for up to two hours, because it sometimes flies across the field to a house near 211. It always returns to the low trees however, so keep your eyes open.
