Summary of info that I've collected on birding in San Diego

Along the coast (the coast is a scenic drive) - Sea Birds
Point Loma - Cabrillo National Monument (a Lighthouse)
This is on the tip of the peninsula at San Diego Bay
	Has Nature Trails
Mission Bay - just North of San Diego, on the coast
	Good for Sea Birds
There is a sanctuary somewhere around Mission Bay

Imperial Beach Area - Tijuana Slough Nat'l Wildlife Refuge
This is on the very SW corner of Calif, bordering Mexico.
Border Field State Park borders the NWR

To the west there are some parks in the mountains and the desert,
that should be good for birds:
    Torrey Pines

Sometimes there are walks with SD Audubon. There is one
this Saturday, 1/28, at South Bay (Silver Strand), and one on Saturday,
2/4, at Pamo Valley (near Ramona). There is a pelagic trip on Saturday
(0600) and whale watching trips where you can also see sea birds. Let me
know if you want details. SD rare bird alert number is (619) 435-6761
(recording), service of SD Field Ornithologists; and they can also give
additional information at 435-5563 (8 am to 8 pm). For a preview, you
might want to call the recorded number for the current sightings.
