[rec.birds] Bald eagle chicks hatched 18 miles from downdown Denver

njl@drutx.ATT.COM (N. J. LaRoche) (04/05/89)

Just thought folks might enjoy knowing that a pair of bald eagles have just
hatched 18 miles from downtown Denver. The nest had been in a dead tree in
the middle of Barr Lake that fell over last year and was rebuilt (by
people) in a nearby sturdier tree. The eagles apparently liked it.

Anyway, so far, the chicks haven't been spotted yet, but the parents can be
seen bringing bits of food to the nest.
