[rec.birds] BENEFIT PLANT SALE OF NATIVES AND HUMMINGBIRD PLANTS

The La Honda Fire Brigade is hosting a SPRING PLANT SALE of rare
plants SUNDAY MAY 7.  The emphasis will be on California natives,
drought-tolerant plants and flowering perennials and shrubs to
attract hummingbirds.  There will also be a section of
drought-tolerant plants that deer avoid.  All plants will be in
gallon containers and suitable for growing in and around the Bay
Area.  Plants will be provided by HUMMINGBIRD GARDENS nursery in La
Honda, which grows plants to attract hummingbirds.  A percentage of
the proceeds will be donated to the La Honda Fire Brigade.
