I visited my parents in KC over the week-end, and my brother and I had a chance to do some birding in Mt. Washington Cemetery. I'll not post the entire list (which isn't long), but some general observations. The place was crawling with Myrtle and Tennessee warblers, and also saw 1-2 Blackpolls, 1 Parula, 1 Yellow, 1 Yellowthroat, and 1 Nashville. I.e., warblers really weren't back. Also Solitar, Red-eyed and Warbling vireos, Chipping Sparrows (many), Clay-colored Sparrow (2), R.-b. Grosbeak (few), E. Wood-pewee (1 singing)--but all in all not a h. of a lot for two mornings in early May. Also lots of Swainson's Thrushes. --Jim RIsing -- Name: Jim Rising Mail: Dept. Zoology, Univ.
