I know there are strict rules about collecting birds. Yesterday I saw a dead sparrow on the way to work that had obviously been the victim of a rapidly moving automobile windshield. Getting more and more interested in birds, I thought about getting some preservative and going back for the bird so I could make a study skin to learn more about feathers and bird anatomy from a real speciment as well as books. What are the rules for just picking up a dead bird that met with some accident? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Mike Burger, Chemistry, 2545 The Mall | University of Hawaii | BITNET: MIKEB@UHCCUX.bitnet | Honolulu, Hawaii, 96822 | INTERNET: mike@helium.chem.hawaii.edu Phone: (808) 948-7503
