furuta (11/20/82)
A few days ago I posted a general notice describing the current state of affairs for TeX, Knuth's text formatter. Several people have written to me asking for information on how to become members of the TeX Users Group (TUG) and how to receive the group's publication, the TUGboat. For the rest of you who might want to know this information, here it is so. The TUG costs $15 to join for this year (1982) and $20 for next year. If you join for this year before the end of December, you will receive the back issues of the TUGboat already published this year (there were two). If you want to join, send your money to TeX Users Group c/o American Mathematical Society P.O. Box 1571, Annex Station Providence, Rhode Island 02901 Further information about TUG is available from TeX Users Group c/o American Mathematical Society P.O. Box 6248 Providence, Rhode Island 02940 or phone Ray Goucher at (401) 272-9500, extension 232. Incidentally, they will send you a copy of Volume 1, number 1 of the TUGboat, free for the asking, if you write them at this address. Institutional memberships are also available for $200 a year (both this year and next). Institutional members can designate up to 5 persons as individual members. Hope this information is of use. --Rick ...decvax!microsoft!uw-beaver!uw-june!furuta (uucp) ...ucbvax!lbl-unix!uw-beaver!uw-june!furuta or Furuta@Washington (ARPAnet)
