A Snowy Owl (Nyctea scandiaca) was found on the 4th of Oct. in Helsinki, Finland. The female plumaged bird didn't fly around downtown but quite close anyway (the species has previously been recorded several times in very urban environment in Helsinki, though). It wasn't relocated in the morning next day but eager birdwatchers will undoubtedly try to find it. A nice little speciality from the Arctic, wouldn't you agree ?
