building. Last week someone found a black-throated blue, and
today the tally is two black-throated blues, a golden-crowned
kinglet, and a red-breasted nuthatch.
I really do not want to compile a life-list of dead birds!
What is the best way to stop these unfortunate "suicides"?
Do hawk or falcon silhouettes taped onto windows help? Has
anyone had experience solving this problem?
I seem to recall hearing about plastic owls mounted near
some large windows at the (formerly RCA, now SRI) David Sarnoff
Lab in Princeton.
Is any netter familiar with this history?
