[rec.birds] trip to calif

pxs@lanl.gov (patricia snider) (11/28/89)

I'm planning a trip to the Los Angeles area over Christmas? Can
anyone tell me when the Christmas Counts are there-especially in
the Pasadena area? Is the Garganey still there? What other goodies
are in the area to see?

All CBCs will have leaders. Contact the chairman, Kris Ohlenkamp at
764-8548 for more info. I think it's an 818 area code but if not it will
be 213. Or call Audubon House at (213)347-3205. The hot line number for
the LA area is (213)874-1318

If you miss the CBC you might want to catch the Descanso Gardens Bird
Walk (in La Canada, a few miles west of Pasadena). The Descanso walks are
normally scheduled on the 2nd and 4th sunday of the month. Call the leader,
Karen Johnson, for info (818)790-1687

Can't help with info on the Garganey. Depends on what you mean by "goodies".
Pasadena and surrounding areas have all kinds. Name your poison.
