The January 1990 edition of "Winging It" contains the following notice : ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attention : Computer People Birders who have computers and modems can now download current transcripts of the Arizona RBA tapes. The transcripts are available in the BIRDWATCHER'S NEST ECHO, a message area devoted to the exchange of sightings and discussion of birding topics. This is message area #12, located on the BBS, UA Today at 602-629-0502 (8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity). The moderator of the conference, Sharon Goldwasser, hopes the the ECHO is picked up by other BBS's. Have your local sysop contact sysop Fred Bourdelier at the Fidonet 1:300/3 for the connection. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- I thought I knew something about computer networks, but what IS this gibberish? Is this some horrible IBM-ism? (Note "horrible IBM-ism" is a tautology). Do we have to tell Sharon that we already have a nationwide BBs in place in rec.birds ?
