Just heard an interesting rumour : A new species for the Western Palearctic has been found, namely breeding in Turkey : the Mongolian Trunpeter Finch (Bucanetes mongolicus). The literature tells the species is possibly breeding in Iran and vagrants are seen in Bahrain. A nice addition to the Bucanetes (formerly Rhodopechys) family in Turkey !
