Greetings. This is the Rio Grande Valley Audubon Alert for Friday
morning May 25th, 1990 sponsored by the Frontera Audubon Society
of South Texas and the Valley's Chamber of Commerce.

There are 2 singing YELLOW-GREEN VIREOS at Laguna Atascosa
National Wildlife Refuge. One bird is being seen in the ditch
behind the visitor center the other near the headquarters area.

Also at Laguna, there has been sporadic sightings of 3 GREEN
PARAKEETS especially early in the morning. This too near the
visitor center.

WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS and HUDSONIAN GODWITS are still present
at Laguna National Wildlife Refuge. Check with the Refuge staff
for further information.

Had a number of reports of NORTHERN BEARDLESS TYRANNULET. There
is at least one bird singing at Bentsen State Park in the
vicinity of trailer site number 70. Also look for the TYRANNULET
on the back side of Pintail Lake at the Santa Ana National
Wildlife Refuge and also at Santa Ana at the trailhead of the
paved trail.

We thank you for calling the Audubon Alert. If you have any
questions or would like to leave a message feel free to do so at
the sound of the tone and we also ask to leave your name and
phone number in case of a need to get back to you.
