Wife and I saw our collective first Cerulean Warblers at, of course, Hueston Woods State Park in SW Ohio last weekend. (Actually, it's in SW Ohio all the time, but you know what I mean.) Two adults, presumably mated pair, and two LOUD fledglings. Strangely, the common wren in the woods is House Wren; there must be about one pair every couple hundred feet of trail. The woodpeckers seem to have decreased in activity levels. I have no doubt they're still there but not as obvious as before with the exception of the Pileateds with their unmistakable drumming pattern. Just dropping a line to the net...happy birding, all! By the way, we'll be in Vermont the first week or so of August. What interesting birds might we expect to see? We'll be in mixed woods/pastureland, quite rolling, in the center of the state. We've had pretty good luck with warblers there in years past, but I don't really remember what to expect. Thanks!
