The bird-keepers at the Washington Park Zoo are looking for a good pair of binoculars which they can use for finding birds in the zoo's aviaries. The binoculars must be good in low light (at least 40mm objectives) and be able to focus on objects less than 10 feet away. A fairly wide field of view is more important than high power: around 7 - 8 power will do. The price should be less than $500. These binoculars won't be used by the public, so 3/4" stainless steel armor plate isn't necessary. Please e-mail any recommendations (pro or con) to me. Thanks. Leonard Bottleman leonard@sequent.uucp
