I recently was offered two blue-breasted wax-bill finches. They are supposed to be both males. I know NOTHING about the species and have several questions for the net. Are they an endangered species? If so, I may buy them and contact my local zoo to see if they are interested in them for breeding stock. The local zoo is nationally known for its breeding program and is successfully breeding a rare species of Kingfisher of which there are only a few birds left in the world. If they aren't an endangered species, do they breed well in captivity? How easy is it to get a female or two? I really prefer not to get involved in birds that may be endangered but will pass them on to the zoo if needed.
