My cockatiel of 12 years just recently died. I've decided to
get a new bird. I'd like some advice about which birds in the
parrot family make the best pets.

Anyhow, what I was typing when cut off.... I'd like some advice fast as I'm going on a medical leave for 6 to 8 weeks and thought it would be the perfect time to get a baby.
