I'm flying over to Florida for one weeks vacation next Saturday and I would really like to find some interesting bird species during my stay. As I will be travelling alone and my knowledge of North American birds is very limited (I've been once in California for 4 weeks but didn't spend too much time on birdwatching) I welcome anybody willing to show me around once, twice or many times. I will have a car for the whole week. So, that's no problem. I've read some reports giving me a clue where to go but nothing compares to a good guide (think of yourself coming to Finland !) So, please, if you or somebody you know can help me contact me as soon as possible (I'll read my e-mail for the last time before my trip on Friday 19th). As for me, I'm 26 years old and I study at the Helsinki Univ. of Technology. I've watched birds for 12 years and consequently I would prefer an experienced birdwatcher as my guide. I also do twitching (I go to see rare birds others have found) and thus not surprisingly I have a special interest in bird identification. Furthermore I would be very delighted if I could visit a bird observatory where bird ringing (do you call it banding ?) is pursued (to take photos of birds in the hand and to compare the routines to those used here in Finland).
