I posted an article a while ago asking if a loggerhead shrike was capable of killing a larger bird (a dove in this case). Somebody was kind enough to respond in the affirmative, but did not give further details. So, my next question: how would a shrike kill a larger bird? Does it crash into them and stun them like some larger birds of prey? Does it slash them with its fairly ominous-looking beak? What?
