I'm posting this because it's a common problem with Moluccan owners.
(and other cockatoos, but none are quite as loud!).  Oftentimes,
bird DO have nightmares in which they make noises.  My amazon used to
talk in his sleep.  What usually helps is to leave a night light in
the bird room.  That way, if the bird wakes up from a nightmare, he
sees his surroundings and isn't quite as scared.

Alternately, if the bird is in an area where he is getting light at
night, try covering the cage.  It may be that he wants it dark.  You
can never tell with these guys.
