[rec.birds] INDOOR: Brooding time for doves.

HCM100@psuvm.psu.edu (Hans C. Masing) (02/19/91)

Hi all-

I posted a few weeks ago about how to get doves to sit on their eggs.
Sucess in that department. Now it's been just over two weeks and no hatching
as of yet. How long does it take doves to hatch? I'm afraid that since
these birds are very young (this is their first brood) the eggs might not
be fertile. I need the birds for my magic act, but don't want to interrupt
natures cycle. Can anyone enlighten me as to the length of time it takes
them to hatch and how I can determine if the eggs are indeed fertile?

Thanks in advance, and please e-mail any answers. Muchos Gracias.

     Presto!!
     Hans Masing
