[rec.birds] Martin Houses

stewartw@cognos.UUCP (Stewart Winter) (03/22/91)

I'm trying to get information on what makes a good martin house. I've
heard all kinds of things including that it should be brightly coloured
and that it should have aluminum siding. Does anyone out there have
any credible information for me? What colour should it be (does it
matter)? What should the outside finish be? Should holes be on all
sides, just two, just one? How high off the ground should it be located?
Are there any good books where I can get these answers without bugging
net.people?
