[rec.birds] birds in films

I saw a new Australian film called "Flirting" last night. An excellent
film, the only thing I didn't like was in the middle of a night scene
they'd added an owl call for atmosphere. Unfortunately it wasn't an Australian
owl, I suspect it was a Tawny Owl (I've yet to hear a real Tawny Owl).

Such mistakes occur in lots of movies, at the start of "Romancing the Stone"
Michael Douglas was trapping Sulphur-Crested Cockatoos in Colombia!
More embarassing was a Australian TV documentary which showed the intrepid
heros supposedly stalking the wilderness to catch a wild Taipan
(large and extremely venomous snake). In the background you could hear
peacocks calling - they were in an animal park!

On a positive note the Australian film "Bliss" (fantastic film of ~7 years ago)
has a lovely soundtrack containing a great variety of bird calls. 30-40 ticks
for your film soundtrack list!
