My two parakeets Nick and green_bird are laying eggs now. However I
noticed that green_bird wasn't sitting on her first egg. Since shes
going to lay a few more, I figured I'd experiment with her egg
by giving it to Butch and Pumpkin (my two cockatiels). Pumpkin was
allready dropping large stools so I figured that a egg would make her happy,
figuring that shed be laying her own soon anyways and that it would be good
practice for her own eggs. Shes doing a good job with her newly adopted egg
I might give her another until she lays her own. In any case I'll put the
egg back in the parakeet box around 12 days or so. I'm sure the cockatiels
would get quite a suprise when it hatched! 8^)
anyone else experimented with adopted eggs?
