I have great success with the disposable chopsticks that are locally widely available as bird toys. They are a soft wood that chews up nicely and are light enough to be carried around by even a small bird. They seem to like to chew on the end and then throw them around. There appears to be no treatment to the wood and once again they are for "human consumption." Since they can be given to the bird right out of the package, there is no danger of contamination with bacteria from the mouth. mike@uhunix.uhcc.hawaii.edu
