I've never seen orioles come to hummingbird feeders in the east, but there aren't any orioles where I feed my hummingbirds. However, Hooded Orioles feed at hummingbird feeders frequently in Arizona. Anyone else have info. on the species of Icterus involved in this. In general, orioles (esp. southwestern ones, e.g., Hooded, Bullock's, & Scott's) feed on nectar. Agave are great places to see orioles, hummingbirds, and House Finches. In captivity, orioles readily eat fruit, including oranges--so the concept of that feeder may not be completely off. -- Name: Jim Rising Mail: Dept. Zoology, Univ. My father used to put out orange sections for Northern (Baltimore) Orioles in his yard in Northern Wisconsin. He had a lot of activity. Jeff Kehoe Hewlett-Packard Co. Ft. Collins, CO 80525 (303) 229-2606
