[rec.birds] Australian Books

As a North American returning from his first visit down under,
I found the Slater guide to be the most helpful for field
identification, but would also take the Pizzey guide for its
text (which is excellent). Neither can describe bird songs,
however. I havn't used the 3rd guide (Sibson is one of the
authors), and cannot comment on it. I'd also highly recommend
getting the guide to bird finding. Can't locate mine, but I
think that it is by John Brandsbury. I found this to be a lot
of help, not only for finding birding spots, but for the usual
tips on places that are in general of interest to people who
like the out of doors, and for finding accommodations, etc.
