The Amateur Packet Radio Network (AMPRNet) is a global network created for radio amateurs experimenting with packet radio communications using the DOD IP protocol. This network is part of the "Internet", and has a block of addresses reserved for it's nodes. From this master block, smaller blocks are allocated on a demand basis to individual countries. Several of us in the Edmonton area were interested in using Phil's code, and requested some addresses. In the process of getting them, I got a new job - that job being the AMPRNet address coordinator for Canada. Therefore, if you are using Phil's code (or are planing to in the near future), or if you know of other hams who are, please contact me so that an AMPRNet address can be assigned to your station. I would also appreciate it if this message could be passed along to the local clubs and various nets. You should also join the tcp-group mailing list, where the software is actively discussed. Send a request to sdcsvax!tcp-group-request. Copies of Phil's code are available from here via anonymous UUCP. Take a copy of ncc!~/pub/ka9q_all.tar.Z using one of the following L.sys entries: ncc Any ACU 2400 14034250342 "" \r ogin:--ogin: nuucp ncc Any ACU 1200 14034250342 "" BREAK ogin:--ogin: nuucp Don't ask for a copy to be mailed to you - it's too big (534378 bytes).
