John Gilmore talks about book-sized 'interactive' books See his article for details.... Here's a thought. How about making the I-book with an editor, and the editor would save all changes made in the book. When you plugged into the base, the I-book would make all changes. If you used something like an EPROM this would be easy, except you would have to leave it plugged in for a while to make the changes. The I-book, then, would just have to save the editing changes you made to it, and perhaps with the right set-up, it could interpret these change and display them on the screen, thereby making the 'editor memory' transparent. It might work, as long as you didn't do a lot of editing. Just some random thoughts from an not quite stable person.
