It prefers the hardwired code if it has a choice, however, and it doesn't understand function keys. I am trying to get a terminal driver working for it that will use termcap for all terminals and configure itself to available function keys. Unfortunately, the Rand editor code is so, uh, bizarre that it is real slow going. chuck (chuqui at mit-mc)
