I have been asked to investigate the possibility of implementing a Usenet host on a pc or pc look-alike. If you are reading this on a pc, then you've already solved the problem (unless you're just using the pc as a terminal)! I've cross-posted this to the ham radio group because I know many hams are using pc to receive their news, and so I call on their expertise as well. Ideally, I would like to find software that would allow a pc running MS-DOS to contact a Usenet site, transfer appropriate news items (as well as uucp mail), and allow me to read and post articles. I know that pc-UN*X systems are available that will accomplish all this, but I don't believe that pc-UN*X is an option here. Any help would be appreciated. Please reply directly to me, or if you would like a copy of the results I get, drop me some email, and I'll send you a copy of all my replies.
