Date: Monday, 20 Dec 1982 11:18-PST I talked with them once. They sell a reconfigured WICAT. I think they pull out WICAT's CPU board, and put "the Stanford Board". It is a VERY small company. The top guy in the Co. was the 'salesman' I got. He wouldn't even tell me whose boards he was putting in the system he was trying to sell me. I stayed away. I like the Sun, Callan, and Fortune. The Sun has BSD, and a high price. The Callan has Standard V7 Unix (Unisoft port), and a low price (9K with 10 Meg. hard disc and floppy). They have an editor called "j" (where is it from?) and Berkeley's vi, csh, etc. The Fortune has about the same price as the Callan, and greater popularity and marketing muscle. They also have a nice menu shell, and a pretty good editor (FOR:WORD). But they charge you $500 about five times over just to get the standard Unix software tools. (C compiler and As - $500; Lex and Yacc-$500; small Berkeley collection-$500; etc.) Mark LaCasse Rand Corporation 1700 Main Street Santa Monica, CA 90406 213/393-0411
