Has anyone tried to interface the freeze-frame buffers on one of the new digital VCR's to a computer? If this wasn't too hard to do it would make a really convenient way to digitize video. In case you are not familiar, many new digital VCR's have a digital freeze frame which is basically a big block of RAM memory that stores the frame and displays it on the screen...you can even freeze frame images off of the tuner as well as from tape. I would imagine there must be some way to read out the data stored in the freeze-=frame RAM...but I don't have any schematics to look at and see how it would be done. Has anyone tried this or thought about it? What kind of luck have you had?
