I'm still looking for a good block converted to shift VHF, mid, and super band frequencies (54 to 300 MHz) up to UHF frequencies (approximately 450 to 800 MHz). I know someone must make them. Radio Shack makes one that drifts all over. I have to fine tune it all the time. I need something that is phase locked to a crystal, or otherwise made stable. Can anyone at least give me phone numbers to contact the *manufacturers* of cable TV equipment? Conversation with cable company: Me: Can you give me the phone number of the manufacturer of the *brand X* cable converter? Them: No, you have to rent them from us. Me: I *am* renting it from you, I'm just trying to find a block converter to change the frequency so I can use it with my cable-ready TV. Them: You can't do that, it's illegal to steal our services. Me: But I *AM* subscribing to your services. etc. Note that I'm not interested in the grey market dealers that advertise in the back of Radio Electronics (among other places). I've tried several, and they don't know anything about block converters, nor will they give me manufacturer's phone numbers. Thanks in advance! -- Eric L.
