[rec.video] Hi 8 tapes advise needed

hsun@hpsdde.hp.com (Hsun Lee) (05/02/91)

I am looking for some Hi 8 tapes. A salesman told me that metal-E
tapes can pick up 400 lines, while metal-P tapes can only pick up 330 lines.
Another salesman told me that metal-E tapes are more prone to defects.
Are these statements true? Which of these two has better picture quality?
Which is less prone to defects? What are their price ranges?

What are the commonly available brands? Which ones are good? Where can
people find good prices?

  Thanks in advance.

Try SONY P6-120HMPX Hi8 tape (120 min) about $12.50. They are available in
60 min and 30 min sizes. I buy them at a SONY Broadcast dealer here Rochester.
