[rec.video] loss of color when recording IIGS video output

ospwd@mathcs.emory.edu (Peter Day {EUCC}) (06/30/91)

I received one response to my posting about losing color when
recording IIGS video output on a VCR and on a camcorder using a
dubbing cable. I would include a copy of the reply, but I lost
it.

The responder said that I should use a very short video dubbing
cable. In his experience, an audio cable or a long video cable
degraded the signal too much.

I tried a 3 ft video cable with gold-plated plugs which I purchased
from Radio Shack. This time my recording using the camcorder did
have color, but it vibrated in and out and looked like it was
splashed onto the black and white image.

However, I got an acceptabe result by simply pointing the camera at
the IIGS screen.

Is there something wrong with the NTSC video output from my IIGS?
Please reply directly to me.
