I'm having some problems with Cnews, which is about a week old on telly. No, I'm not talking about the nasty message it sent out to the neighbour that used to send me some stuff via ihave/sendme - that's another story. This problem is far more basic - there are MANY duplicate articles which aren't getting rejected. Many are, but I'm finding a lot of articles showing up multiple times. For instance, "grep 15804@utzoo /usr/lib/news/history" gives me: <1989May6.140024.15804@utzoo.uucp> 610489487~- tor.news.stats/4420 <1989May6.140024.15804@utzoo.uucp> 610595929~- tor.news.stats/4467 <1989May6.140024.15804@utzoo.uucp> 610610631~- tor.news.stats/4483 Two of the articles share a path utzoo!attcan!telly, the other came in via tmsoft. One thing that is repeatable, is that if relaynews runs a batch which is rejected for one reason or another, if I fix the problem and run the batch back through, any articles which got inserted correctly the first time get re-inserted on the second attempt. I notice that the history.pag file has not grown above 400K, even though the history text file is well past a meg. This was definitely not similar to Bnews' dbm, where the .pag file usually showed up to be double the size of the text file, generally. Suggestions? Please mail your help.
