lsuc was fried by a lightning hit this afternoon (Tuesday July 26). Service people have been called but we won't know till tomorrow how serious the damage is. lsuc has been down since some time on the weekend. Apparently its root
file system has been damaged and it cannot be booted. The lsuc folk are
trying to repair or restore the root file system now, but don't have an
estimate of when lsuc will be up.

lsuc (lsuc.on.ca) crashed Friday evening with a disk problem, and when rebooted, soon crashed again. We seem to be up again, as of this morning. It still
crashed once in mid-afternoon (Monday Sept 18), so it's
possible worse problem are ahead.
