	******** TEKTRONIX ECS OPEN HOUSE AT UNICOM ***********

Tektronix, Inc. is pleased to announce the formation of a new business
unit, Engineering Computing Systems. To introduce ECS to the UNIX
community, Tek will have an Open House at the UNICOM UNIX Conference in
San Diego, January 25, 26, and 27, from 5 to 8 each evening, in the
"Vista" Room.


ECS will be designing and implementing advanced high-performance
UNIX-based computing products. Features of these products will include:

	) Berkeley 4.2BSD VM/UNIX
	) Windowing graphics terminal interface
	) Distributed processing and multi-processing
	) Transparent Ethernet interface

The Open House will have engineers available to discuss the goals of
the new business unit and opportunities for employment in ECS.

Tektronix is a major manufacturer of instrumentation for scientific and
engineering applications, and is located near Portland, Oregon.
